Hayling Island’s seafront now has increased accessibility with the addition of this new Changing Places WC and accessible boardwalk.

Following a grant from Havant Borough Council, this larger facility with specialist access equipment has been installed on the seafront close to Chichester Avenue and, after careful consideration, it was decided that it be best positioned next to the existing male and female toilets which are close to the boardwalk and have an accessible parking area.

This was the second Changing Places provided by the council, and following the successful completion of contract 1 located within the Meridian Shopping Centre in Havant, Adson were entrusted with the delivery of this 2nd important contract.

Officially opened by Councillor Peter Wade the Mayor of Havant, the new facility has been funded by the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) and the council’s Community Infrastructure Levy Fund (CIL).

Both projects are included on the national Changing Places Toilets register and website, helping people living nearby or visiting the area to find their nearest accessible facility.

The project was installed on time and to budget allowing users to access this vital facility as soon as possible.
