Lee Wilkinson was Project Manager for the delivery of two new accommodation blocks at this independent College in Brighton. The new facilities provide comfortable onsite living for students with 78no. single occupancy, en-suite student bedrooms.

The students can enjoy long views towards the South Downs as the buildings are sat on this vast 350-acre Grade II listed site dating back to 1792 when the main house was built.

Externally, the buildings have been carefully designed and constructed in a linear fashion and follow the orientation and grain of the existing building. They feature matt black metal mono pitched roofs and external cladding and the materials used have taken inspiration from the local village buildings in colour and tone.

This fantastic build incorporates several innovative construction methods and sustainability measures and achieved BREEAM Excellent rating. Modular en-suite shower room pods that were carefully manufactured off site led to a significant reduction in the programme. This also eliminated future issues with defects, maintenance and aftercare.
