Works at this 150-year-old CofE Primary School in Clymping West Sussex involved partial demolition of the existing building to make way for a new £150k classroom block extension. The contract included new windows, heating, lighting, decorations, new roof as well as redecoration, roof repairs and some external improvement works to the existing block.
Lee Wilkinson and the Adson site team delivered this important contract within the live School environment where they had strict safety measures in place including stringent programming and coordination of activities, thorough top-down communication, clear safety signage and secure fencing to protect the pupils, staff and visitors.
The site manager and his trusted subcontractors were particularly sensitive to the School operating hours and arranged timed deliveries where necessary avoiding pupil drop off and collection times for minimal disruption. Contractor parking was also segregated to ensure the safeguarding of pupils, staff and visitors throughout, this was our top priority on this logistically challenging site.
Noise and dust were kept to a minimum, and the site was always kept clean and tidy with materials safely stored away when not in use not just for safety and cleanliness but to avoid damage to materials that would cause delays to programme and additional unnecessary costs. Adson and our subcontractors demonstrated the company’s strict Quality control procedures throughout.
The site-based client meant that clear communication and project updates could be had daily enabling the team to demonstrate these standards. The site manager and his subcontractors worked collaboratively with the client, pupils and visitors as well as the neighbouring residents to ensure Adson delivered the project safely, to programme and budget.
